What's New

Lawyers Board has New Chair
On September 10, 2009, the Minnesota Supreme
Court appointed Judith M. Rush as Chair of the
Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board. Ms. Rush
succeeds Kent A. Gernander. Ms. Rush's appointment
became effective February 1, 2010.

PUBLIC COMMENT REQUESTED
The Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board seeks
public comment on proposed Opinion No. 22 regarding
a lawyer's ethical obligations regarding metadata.  Submit

Amends Panel Manual.
Revisions to the Lawyers Professional Responsibility
Board Panel Manual were approved by the Board at its
January 2010 meeting. The Manual was updated as a
result of the revisions to the Rules on Lawyers
Professional Responsibility which took effect on

Adopts Opinion No. 21.
At its October 2009 meeting, the Lawyers Board adopted
Opinion 21 regarding a lawyer's duty to consult with a client

Search Now Available
Click the link on the menu to the left entitled
“Lawyer Search:  Public Discipline Record.”
Enter a lawyer’s last name.  A list of lawyers
will appear showing whether or not they are
authorized to practice in Minnesota and
if they have public discipline.  If they are
not authorized, it will state the reason.
Click on the lawyer you are inquiring about. 
If the lawyer has public discipline, there
should be a link to the Supreme Court
order or opinion.
